For two years I’ve been trying to become a candle tester for Antique Candle Co. and I finally got the opportunity! It was a really cool experience. So, here’s what happens.
First, you have to apply to be a candle tester and then she selects a certain amount of people out of all the applicants who applied, to be a tester. Once she’s done that, you will get an email congratulating you on being a tester and the email also includes instructions on what to do next.
You will get your box of candle samples in the mail a few weeks after the testers are chosen. Then you have a few weeks to test each candle sample. She suggests testing each candle sample for about 2-4 hours in a medium sized room. After you’ve tested all the candles and decided which ones you like and don’t like. You get a survey sent to your email for feedback. The questions are detailed and ask for your opinion on each scent and what you smell from each candle. Once your survey is done you submit it and get to keep the candles for yourself.
For me, I took notes on what each candle smelled like and what I liked and didn’t like about the candles I tested. I think that helped when it came time to fill out the survey. It’s important to be honest so she can get accurate feedback from her consumers to better serve us as a business.
All in all, it was a really fun experience and I hope I am able to be a candle tester for Antique Candle Co. again in the future. I really enjoyed it and I even got sent one of my favorite scents to test out!
