Hey Y'all! So, we are almost 5 months out from our wedding and I wanted to post some tips and tricks I found useful for planning our wedding. I hope they help you and if you have any tips and tricks too, please feel free to comment below! Here they are:
1. We got engaged in April of 2019 and we set our date for the fall of 2020,that gave us about a year and a half to plan our wedding so we had plenty of time to make decisions.
2. Our first step, after picking out a few wedding dates, was picking a venue. My tips for you all planning a wedding would be to keep it simple. Look at places online and don't overwhelm yourself with too many options. This will making choosing a venue easier.
3. If it's within your budget, choose a venue that is "all-inclusive" or at least has vendor options they use regularly. The venue we chose included the DJ, floral, lighting, decor, bridal suite, a place for the groomsman to hang out and a day-of wedding coordinator. This definitely makes planning easier.
4. After choosing your venue, the next step is booking your photographer and videographer. We found our photographer first, and since we wanted engagement pictures done we chose a package that included both. That helps save money in the long run. Our photographer is Katelyn King and she's amazing. For our videographer, we stayed with the company that our venue uses for the DJ, since they offered both packages we thought this was the best deal.

5. My next tip is for both bride and grooms, really think about how many bridesmaids and groomsman you want and choose wisely. You want to make sure these people are as faithful to you as you are to your future spouse.
6. Take it slow. You don't have to make all the decisions in the first month, unless you're only engaged for a few months before your wedding date. But my point in saying take it slow is to enjoy being engaged. It's such a blessing.
7. Take as many pictures throughout this process of you and your future spouse and your wedding party. Or document it in some form or fashion. You will want these memories later.
8. USE A PLANNER! This may be number 8 on my list but it's one of the most important tips in my opinion, and by planner I mean a physical, paper planner you can write things in, not necessarily a wedding planner (an actual person). Although, wedding planners can be super useful too.

9. Use a budget and make lists. For me, I love lists and I love mapping out all the things I am going to be spending money on over the course of my engagement before my wedding. This includes bridesmaid or groomsman gifts, gifts for parents, t-shirts, bachelorette decorations, professional pictures being made, decor for the wedding, honeymoon items, etc. Making lists and keeping track of these things will help ease your mind when it comes to spending and can help keep you in line so you don't over spend.
10. Make sure your guest list is full of people you and your future spouse love and cherish. These are people you are going to remember talking to on your wedding day. These are people who are going to make your wedding day better and fun, not miserable and stressful.
For now, those are all my tips and tricks! I may post more about wedding planning in future posts. I definitely have a couple of ideas up my sleeve like, a list of our vendors, my bridal brunch, bachelorette weekend, rehearsal dinner & Wedding day, honeymoon packing list, our honeymoon experience, etc. If you would love to follow along, please subscribe below and leave me a comment to let me know if you're engaged or planning a wedding or even your experience on your wedding day! Thanks for joining in!!
