Veggies & Burgers

I wanted to share a meal my fiance and I eat fairly often. It's roasted veggies and deer burgers!


My fiance is a hunter so we eat a lot of deer meat and it's leaner than beef, but beef or ground turkey would also work for this recipe! I used summer squash, zucchini, an orange bell pepper, red bell pepper, green bell pepper, a yellow bell pepper and 1/4 of a sweet onion. I chopped all the veggies up and tossed them in extra virgin olive oil and the

McCormick Grill Mates Roasted Garlic & Herb seasoning. I preheated the oven to 400*F and roasted them for about 20-25 minutes. The time for this is totally dependent on you and how you like your veggies. I like mine still crunchy but cooked, so I roasted mine for about 20 minutes.

Next is the burgers! We preheated the grill and then mixed the meat and seasonings in a large bowl.

We added about a pound of the deer meat in a large bowl with Worcestershire sauce, black pepper, Himalayan sea salt and Fire & Flavor All Natural Steak Rub Hickory Smoke & Sea Salt. We just kind of eye ball our quantities but in the recipe below I will put approximate measurements. Always feel free to add and change up the ingredients. Like I said previously, this will work just as good with beef or turkey burgers. Personally, deer meat tastes better to me, but isn't always accessible.

We mixed all the ingredients in the bowl and then formed the burgers and put them on the grill. It took about 15 minutes for the burgers to cook on the grill.We cook our burgers all the way through to well done.

When the burgers are done, dress them on a bun with cheese, lettuce, onions, pickles, and any condiments you would like.

Personally, I just like the bun toasted with a little mayo and ketchup and some lettuce. So tasty!!

For another side we just made some cheesy cheddar noodles, they were just packaged noodles so I'm not going to share the directions for those. Plus, they weren't my favorite.

Cook Time: 25-35 min

Total Time: 35-45 min


Ingredients for Veggies: Ingredients for Burgers:

1 Green Bell Pepper 1 Lb of Ground Deer, Beef or Turkey

1 Red Bell Pepper 1 Tbs of Worcestershire Sauce

1 Yellow Bell Pepper 1/2 tsp of Fire & Flavor All Natural Steak Rub

1 Orange Bell Pepper A pinch of pepper & Sea Salt

1/4 of a Sweet Onion

1 Summer Squash

1 Zucchini

1 tsp McCormick seasoning or seasoning of choice

Directions for Veggies:

1. Pre-heat oven to 400*F

2. Chop up veggies

3. Mix all veggies, seasoning & Olive oil on non-stick pan

4. Roast in oven for 20-25 minutes or until liking

5. Take out, let sit for 5 min & Serve


Directions for Burgers:

1. Pre-heat grill

2. mix all ingredients in large bowl

3. Form into burgers & place on grill for 15-20 minutes or until liking

4. Take out, dress them up & serve!
