We Tried the Magnolia Cookbook Chocolate Chip Cookies!

Writer's picture: nestledlivingnestledliving

Hey everyone! This past week Cason and I decided to try the Chocolate chip cookie recipe from Joanna Gaines Magnolia cookbook. And they were sooooo good!!!! You can find her cookbook here if you are interested.

The ingredients for these cookies was pretty basic.

2 1/2 Cups all-purpose flour

1 Heaping teaspoon of baking soda

1/2 teaspoon sea salt

8 tablespoons (1 stick) unsalted butter, at room temperature

- Joanna said she pulls the butter out of the fridge about an hour before she's ready to bake the cookies

2 Cups packed light brown sugar

2 large eggs

1 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

1 2/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips (see tip in cookbook)

You can follow the recipe found in her book or follow along on one of Joanna's instagram stories of her baking them!

I absolutely love this cookbook and there are so many different recipes for so many different meals! Plus, chocolate chip cookies are my favorite kind of cookie, you just can't go wrong with a classic. These cookies also look amazing when they come out of the oven, which is a cute aesthetically pleasing plus.

We made enough cookie dough to freeze for later too! So, my tip would be to bake however many cookies you would like and then freeze the rest in a baggie and write the date you made the dough. Cookies now and cookies later!

If you've tried these Magnolia Chocolate Chip Cookies, let me know by leaving a comment! Also, please don't forget to subscribe and join in on our community and mailing list so you don't miss out.
